At approximately 4:53 a.m. Thursday, Boone County Communications received a call for a missing male, identified as Mr. Thomas Hale (59 yrs) of Kirkland. It was reported by family that Mr. Hale had left the residence for a walk and had not returned home. Boone County Deputies assisted in the search early that morning but were unable to locate Mr. Hale.
Once daylight later that morning, the BCSO resumed with the search efforts. At approximately 10:41 a.m. Mr. Hale was located in the area of County Road 500 East and 750 North under a nearby bridge. It was determined at this time that Mr. Hale was deceased.
On Thursday, an autopsy was performed. At this time the cause of death is unknown and therefore is considered still under investigation. A complete autopsy report will not be available for another few weeks. At this time, we do not expect any type of foul play.
