Frankfort Street Department superintendent Jason Forsythe has told WILO news there will be NO RECYCLING PICKUP tomorrow (Wednesday) in Frankfort. With cold temperatures, Forsythe said it would be tough on the workers riding on the back of a truck. Wednesdays forecast high is 14. Wind chill values will be as low as -19 throughout the day. Official press release below:
Residents in Frankfort will not have recycle pick-up this Wednesday, January 26, 2022 due to extremely low temperatures and wind chill.
“We want to make sure the employees on the back of the truck stay safe in these weather conditions. The National Weather Service sent out a wind chill advisory for tomorrow and I feel we need to be cautious,” stated Street Superintendent, Jason Forsythe.
I am working on a policy for the Street Department that would outline unusually cold weather conditions. This policy would help the community on whether trash or recycle pick-ups would or would not be picked-up. We (the City of Frankfort) try our best to make sure we communicate what is taking place in Frankfort, and I think this policy would become very useful in our community, stated Forsythe.
Trash pick-up will run as normal today (Tuesday, January 25th), and on Thursday, January 27, 2022.
