Norma Jean Smith, 82, of Frankfort, passed away at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon on July 19, 2021. She was born on February 26, 1939, in Frankfort, to Ivan and Minnie (Downs) Smith. She married Joe Stevens and they divorced. She then married Joe Ewing and they divorced.
Norma was a 1956 graduate of Frankfort High School. She worked for Peter Paul for 17 years and for Alcoa for 18 years. She was a member of the Alcoa Retirement Club and a former member of Women of the Moose. She volunteered at the Clinton County Hospital, Clinton Prairie School, and Guardian Angel Hospice.
Her interests included mushroom hunting, going to the gambling boat, watching the Price Is Right, doing crossword puzzles, and playing Euchre. More importantly, she loved on and helped raised her grandkids.
She is survived by her children, Brad Stevens (Evelyn), Marty Stevens (Dee), and Jody (Matt) Howe; daughter-in-law, Ellen Stevens; sisters, Helen Rayles (Dick), Patty Smith (Buck), Mickey Hodson, Joan Elliott (John), Jane Rodkey (Dave); sister-in-law, Connie Smith, 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Rick Stevens; brothers, Jim Smith and Bennie Smith; and grandson, Ryan.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, July 23, 2021 at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort. The service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at the funeral home with Paul Del Valley officiating. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort.
