Public Information Meeting To Be Held for SR 26 Project

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announces a public information meeting will be held on Thursday, June 7 for the State Road 26 (S.R. 26) proposed pavement rehabilitation project in Clinton County from approximately Rossville to Russiaville.

The meeting will be held on Thursday, June 7 at Rossville High School, located at 1 Robert Egly Drive, enter through the main doors. The meeting will begin promptly at 6 p.m.

The purpose of road rehabilitation work is to enhance safety within the S.R. 26 corridor. Several improvements are proposed within various segments of the project area including increasing lane widths, providing roadside shoulder with portions to be paved, improving drainage, modifying and/or replacing culverts, installing rumble striping, improving sidewalk (in areas with existing sidewalk), adding a turning lane (S.R. 26 at S.R. 75) and other safety enhancements.

In addition to enhancing safety, the proposed improvements will extend the usable service life of the existing roadway by addressing pavement condition and roadway flooding.

This public information meeting is opportunity for INDOT to meet with members of the community regarding proposed road work, solicit input and address concerns the community may have regarding proposed road work.
