RAICES Festival Announces New Parade For 2024

The RAICES Festival announced a new addition to this year’s festivities: a grand parade.

The parade will take place on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 3 p.m. Registration will open at 1:30 p.m. at the Purdue Extension, Learning Network parking lot located at 1111 South Jackson Street, Frankfort, IN 46041.

“We are excited to bring our community together with the RAICES Festival Parade,” stated Community Development Director, Kimberly Black. “We have had numerous organizations and residents reach out saying they would love to have a parade. We are hoping for a great turnout our first year.”

The parade form can be found on the City of Frankfort website at https://frankfort-in.gov/department/division.php?structureid=62 in both Spanish and English.

The parade route will follow the same path as the beloved Christmas parade. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Frankfort Main Street for their invaluable support in helping us organize this exciting event.

Parade Route will start on South Main Street, turning East on Washington Street, then turning South on Jackson Street, and turning East on Clinton Street.

The Parade will end by Prairie Creek and Old Stoney – City Hall.

Parade forms need to be turned into the Community Development Office at Old Stoney (301 East Clinton Street) by Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 4 p.m. Late entries will be accepted on the day of the parade and will be added to the end of the line.

The RAICES Festival will open at 4 p.m. with the Opening Ceremony at Prairie Creek Park. The RAICES Festival will feature a diverse lineup of local talent including Los Bravos, El Padrino De La Cumbia and Grupo Radiactivo. The festival will showcase creativity and talent from the youth in our community through Art, Essay and Mini Model Contests.

The RAICES Festival is free and open to the public.
