Rolland “Zeke” King

Rolland E. “Zeke” King, 87, Frankfort, passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Wesley Manor. He was born October 16, 1930, in Clinton County, Indiana to Virgil and Jesse (Walker) King, the tenth of eleven children. He always described a happy childhood with a close knit family. Zeke was a 1948 graduate of Sugar Creek Township High School. He served in the United States Army with a posting in Germany during the Korean War. Upon his return he completed an engineering degree from Purdue University. In 1959 he moved to California to work in the aerospace industry. He enjoyed a wonderful life in his home near the beaches of the Pacific Ocean. In addition to a fulfilling work life, he built a network of close friends. They golfed, played at the beach, traveled the world, and were enthusiastic attendees at various sporting events. Zeke also enjoyed monthly trips to Las Vegas with a group of buddies.

Throughout his life, Zeke nurtured and treasured his relationships with his family and friends and he was treasured in return. He returned to be near family in Indiana when he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2008 which is the cause of his passing.

Zeke is survived by his sisters, E. Joan Brown, Jewell Haskett, Phyllis Powell.

Zeke is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Roscoe, Gifford, Kenneth and Robert and sisters Velma Boone, Lavonna Patchett, and Dorothy Mae Boone.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 4, 2018, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort at 11:00 a.m. with Chaplin Ken Rushing officiating.
