Rollover Accident on State Road 39 Sends Frankfort Woman to Hospital in Critical Condition

At 11:07 a.m. Friday, Boone County Sheriff’s Deputies, Lebanon Fire Department, Thorntown Fire Department and Witham EMS were dispatched to a rollover motor vehicle accident at State Road 39 and County Road 725 North.

The driver identified as Alexis N. Coomer, 20, from Frankfort, was traveling northbound on State Road 39 approaching County Road 725 North. Coomer was driving a gray 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee. For unknown reasons, she lost control of the vehicle and over-corrected causing her to leave the roadway to the eastside of the road way.

Coomer struck a ditch and began to roll. Her vehicle then inverted multiple times and struck a tree. The vehicle came to rest on it’s top in the field to the east of the roadway. Coomer was trapped in the vehicle and was extricated by fire personnel. She was transported to St. Vincent’s hospital for evaluation and treatment of injuries in critical condition.

Although it may not be a factor, toxicology and alcohol screen results are pending for the driver.
