Rotarians Paint Playground Equipment at Prairie Elementary

Rotarians of Clinton County encourage and foster the ideal “Service Above Self” and of local service to Clinton County.  Rotarians are making sure we are doing our share of service in our personal, business and community life.  Our goal is to advance the understanding, goodwill, and peace through our Four-Way Test.

  1. Is it the Truth?
  2. Is it Fair to all concerned?
  3. Will it build Goodwill & Better Friendship?
  4. And will it be beneficial to all concerned?

We had the wonderful opportunity to provide help to Clinton Prairie Elementary by painting their elementary playground equipment.  We first heard about the project from the CP Elementary principal.  We knew that paint had been provided by Healthy Communities through one of their grants and they just needed the manpower to complete the project.  We were looking for a service project and the members decided this would be a great project.

Lee Moyer, and Tristen Comegys, headed up the project.  They knew this project was going to be at least 15 hours of work with about 8-10 volunteers each night.  This was no issue for the Rotarians who showed up at Clinton Prairie for three days of painting.  We also had Sharon from Open Door Clinic, Janelle Crawford and YMCA staff help paint as well.   Everyone spent time getting to know each other a little better.  The playground was in a great need for a “face-lift”.

Rotarians are happy that they were able to do a service project to make the kids’ playground look so inviting for them to go out to exercise and play.
