Ruben Named 2017 Officer of the Year

Frankfort Police Department leadership recognized Officer Joshua Ruben as the Department’s 2017 Officer of the Year as Ruben demonstrated outstanding achievement and performance above and beyond his normal duties in serving as an example of leadership and professionalism. Awarded the 2017 Distinguished Supervisor, Lieutenant Brady Sorrells was recognized as a commanding officer who provides exceptional contributions to the goals and mission of the Police Department.

According to Police Chief Troy Bacon, both Ruben and Sorrells are excellent examples of dedicated public safety servants.

“Since joining the force in 2016, Officer Ruben has distinguished himself as a caring, committed officer who goes the extra mile in performing his duties. Ruben is a knowledgeable and active officer who strives to achieve the Departments goals and Mission each time he puts on his uniform and comes to work”

“Lieutenant Sorrells has been with the Frankfort Police Department since 2012 and has consistently demonstrated a dedication to the community, crime fighting, and on-shift leadership. Sorrells understands the Mission and Department philosophies and carries them out every day in a style that truly motivates and inspires everyone around him”.

“We are extremely proud of both of these officers and the high quality public safety service they provide to the community and to their fellow team members,” Bacon said.

Lieutenant Sorrells was the 2013 Frankfort Police Department and the 2013 Indiana Association of Chiefs of Police Officer of the Year.

These officers and other members of the Police Department were recognized at the Department’s January 6 annual awards banquet.

Perfect attendance awards were given to Captain James Skinner, Captain Jacob Myers, Officer Michael Cesare, Officer Eric Booth, and Officer Andrew Snyder.
