Three Days Until High School Football – Three New Coaches to Know

High school football is just three days away.

Here is a look at three new coaches for local teams.

Frankfort – Andy Dudley

Andy Dudley becomes the third coach in the last three years and the sixth coach since 2015 at Frankfort. While Dudley hasn’t coached football before, he has plenty of coaching experience and knows what it takes to win.

Dudley has been the head coach for Frankfort’s baseball program for nearly 25 years and has led the team to four sectional titles and a regional championship in 2023.

Dudley brings with him a veteran coaching staff with plenty of coaching and playing experience.

“This was not ‘we hired Andy Dudley and Andy Dudley found some assistant coaches,'” Dudley said. “We really hired as a staff.”

The Hot Dogs have struggled to find success in recent history. Frankfort has gone .500 or better just once since 2009 and is currently on a 29-game losing streak.

“Everyone knows where Frankfort football has been,” Dudley said. “It’s been a long journey where we’ve gotten to the struggles we’re on… our number one priority is worrying about what Frankfort football is doing. I’m a big believer in taking a look at everything and starting with the things we have control over.”

Dudley’s squad will take the field against Clinton Central on Friday in the Game of the Week kickoff. The game will be available to listen to on WILO.

Clinton Central – Michael Griffy

Michael Griffy takes over the Clinton Central football program after several years in the program.

Griffy coached in the youth program before taking over as the offensive line coach for two years under Jeremy Fendley.

Despite losing their two top rushers from a year ago, Griffy said he feels confident about the team coming back.

“The good news is the entire offensive line outside of one guy is back,” Griffy said. “So at least we’re running behind some people that have a little bit of experience.”

One goal Griffy said he has is to be more dynamic, including more movement and balance between run and pass.

“I think our kids are ready to start to speak a grown-up language,” Griffy said. “What I mean by that is we will see a lot more shifts and a lot more motions. I’m more comfortable with the arm in the backfield with Kaleb Robinson throwing the ball; I’m also way more comfortable with him standing behind an offensive line that has a year under its belt.”

The Bulldogs have won three games in each of the last two seasons, but haven’t been over .500 since 2020.

“We’re going to have to build our tradition,” Griffy said. “It’s going to have to mean something to play for Clinton Central instead of playing at Clinton Central. Kids have to love it; they have to buy in, and that’s my job.

Griffy will lead his team into enemy territory to take on Frankfort on Friday in the Game of the Week kickoff. The game will be available to listen to on WILO.

Delphi – Terry Peebles

Out of all the new coaches in the area, Peebles brings the most experience.

Peebles coached for 11 years at Harrison High School in Lafayette where he went 75-41 and won two Sectional Championships.

After spending 2025 off the field, Peebles returns to the gridiron to lead an Oracle team that has gone 32-29 over the last six seasons, but has won just one game in the Sectional Tournament in that span.

Peebles won the Indiana Football Coaches Association Large School Coach of the year in 2016 and led Harrison to four conference championships.

The veteran head coach also has experience at the collegiate level, where he served as the offensive coordinator for three different schools.
