In its 35th year, the Richard G. Lugar Excellence in Public Service Series announced its 2024-2025 class.

“We are excited to announce the 35th Lugar Series class and begin working with a group of strong Republican women representing 12 counties throughout the state. The women selected to participate in this year’s class bring an array of talents that will continue to strengthen Indiana as well as the Republican party,” said Anne Hathaway, Executive Director of the Lugar Series. “I am excited for each of them to continue the legacy of Senator Lugar and develop their skills to make an impact in civic service at the local, state and federal levels of government after graduating from the Lugar Series.”

Those selected for the 35th Lugar Series class are from around the state, including Taylor Crenshaw and Krista Stillwell from Clinton County.

“When I found out about my selection, I couldn’t have been more thrilled,” shared Krista Stillwell. “This was an accomplishment and opportunity I was really hoping to take part in, and look forward to the many continued opportunities for growth this series class will bring.”

Taylor Crenshaw also shared, “I’m honored to already be a part of Clinton County leadership and I know the Lugar Series will teach me so much that I will be able to implement both civically and professionally. ” Crenshaw was recently caucused in as a City Councilwoman to replace Megan Sheets who retired from her role to move out of state. Stillwell and Crenshaw are both members  of the Clinton County Republican Women’s Club, and are active in ensuring the Republican Party has a long legacy in our county’s future. They are only the second and third women from Clinton County ever chosen for this prestigious group, coming after Carol Price who was a member of  the 2023 – 2024 class.

Price recently shared, “After I went through this amazing experience, I couldn’t wait to recommend young women to be a part of it. Taylor and Krista have been so engaged locally, and I felt they would be perfect for this class.”

The 35th class will be celebrated on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2024, at the Annual Opening Reception hosted at the Columbia Club in downtown Indianapolis. About the Richard G. Lugar Excellence in Public Service Series

Inspired by the late Indiana Senator Richard Lugar, the Richard G. Lugar Excellence in Public Service Series was established in 1990 as a not-for-profit women’s leadership development program designed to increase the preparation, influence and number of Republican women in local, state and national elective and appointive offices.

To date, the Lugar Series has trained 624 Hoosier women and has produced exceptional new party leaders, public board and commission members, political operatives, and elected officials from mayors and legislators to state executive office holders. Since 1990, the program model has been replicated to create excellence programs across the country with over 2,000 graduates nationwide.
