At 6:07 p.m. Sunday, troopers responded to a serious crash on I-465 westbound near Emerson Avenue. Personnel from the Indianapolis Fire Department were first to arrive on scene, they found two heavily damaged vehicles. Inside one of the vehicles was an adult female who was unresponsive, despite life saving efforts she was pronounce deceased on scene.
Preliminary investigation revealed an adult female was driving a passenger car westbound on I-465 near Emerson Avenue in the left lane, as she changed lanes to the right, possibly striking another vehicle, she lost control, spun sideways and struck the center concrete median wall head-on. Her car bounced back into the left lane where it was struck by a westbound pick-up truck, the driver of the pick-up was not injured.
