Troopers from the Indiana State Police are investigating a two vehicle crash that resulted in a fatality. On Saturday evening, at 8:35, emergency crews were called to a serious crash in the westbound lanes of I-465 just west of I-65 on the south side of Indianapolis. When first responders arrived Samaritans were performing CPR on an adult male. The wreckage included a pick-up truck and a motorcycle and the debris field stretched a significant distance. The rider of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased at the scene, the driver of the pick-up truck was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
The investigation into the circumstances of this crash are ongoing and there are no further details to release at this time. The westbound lanes of I-465 were restricted and closed at times for three hours while the crash was investigated. The family of the deceased has been notified.
