Veterans Day Celebrated in Downtown Frankfort: Photos and Videos

Approximately 150 individuals braved the chilly conditions to attend the annual Veterans Day Program Saturday morning at Veterans Park in downtown Frankfort. Frankfort Mayor Chris McBarnes gave the Veterans Day address.

“It’s just such an honor to be here with our veterans today,” said McBarnes. “We live in the greatest country in the world thanks to our veterans and it’s nice to be able to say thanks to them.”

McBarnes talks about the essence of his speech.

“Anything we do, no matter what hobby it be or no matter what profession, we do it, we can glorify God and we can glorify our country and our veterans by doing it to the best of our ability,” he said.

Mel Betts, Past Commander of American Legion Post 12, was the Master of Ceremonies. Music was provided by the Frankfort High School Band.

All were invited to a soup and sandwich lunch at the VFW Post 1110. Also, veterans and one guest were invited to dinner at the American Legion Post 12.
