These are some of the signs that individuals wanted to have for their own Veteran.

Considering all the cold, wet and windy weather that has kept a lot of the crowd away at the Veterans Day ceremonies in the past, Saturday morning’s weather couldn’t have been any better with the sun shining, little winds and the big crowd that turned out for the festivities.

With Master of Ceremonies Craig Overman of Kilmore United Methodist Church running the show, the event lasted between 30 and 45 minutes. Not only did Overman do the Master of Ceremonies well, he was also did the Invocation and the Benediction.

Jacque Clements led the crowd with the Star-Spangled Banner, Girl Scout Troop 50485 of Mulberry did the Pledge of Allegiance with the Frankfort High School Band performed a medley of songs. The Veterans Day Address was given by Sgt. Nicky George of the U.S. Army Reserves from Terre Haute.

“I think it’s great that this gets put together every year,” said Frankfort Mayor Judy Sheets. “The VFW Post here in Frankfort put this program together. I think it’s so important for our community that we continue to honor our veterans — past and current ones that are still with us. Thanks you to their families and for their support.”
