Clinton Central High School junior-to-be Ally Webster was named as the winner of the Supreme Showmanship competition Thursday night at the Clinton County & 4-H Fair.

“From my very first year, I’ve always looked at these people in the ring and said ‘I’m going to be one of them,'” said Webster. “So, I practiced and practiced and practiced. Now, I feel like I finally accomplished one of my biggest goals. It feels awesome. So awesome.”

The competition features winners from swine, beef, sheep, goat, horse and llama competitions.

Webster, who won the horse competition, was named the top showman over five other individuals — Jacob Shoup (swine), Cordon Selke (beef), Josie Mattingly (sheep), Erika McWhirt (goat) and Kylie Rapp (llama).

Webster said she was able to overcome some early problems.

“The biggest thing in this competition is no matter how good of a showman you are is just to stay calm and if you mess up just keep moving on,” said Webster. “I think I handled that really well tonight as things just kept going. Right out of the gate, my pig didn’t work with me. I just kind of brushed it off, didn’t get worried about it too much and just kept going on.”
