Mr. William Kenneth Rice, Jr., 89, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at Freedom Village in Bradenton, Florida. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on January 9, 1935; a son of the late William K. Rice and Isabell (Curtis) Rice.
Bill was a 1952 graduate of Whitefish Bay High School in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin and he attended Milwaukee School of Engineering.
On September 6, 1958, he was married to Grace M. (Heeg) Rice in Howe, Indiana; She preceded him in death on December 2, 2016.
Bill worked in the division of computer services at Indiana Department of Transportation and retired after 38 years.
Bill was a member of Jamestown American Legion Post 395 and Hendricks County Forty & Eight Voiture 1390.
Survivors include his daughters, Alice Hargrove of Bozeman, MT and Debra (Tracy) Fryman of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Craig (Bridget) Fryman and Sara (John) Pogorov; great grandchildren, Alexander Pogorov, Anna Pogorov, Vika Pogorov; Hazel Pogorov, Jenna Fryman, Leah Fryman, Nathaniel Fryman, and Paige Fryman; brother, Robert (Penny) Rice of Boise, Idaho; and sister, Nancy Storer of Wilmington, Delaware.
In addition to his parents and wife, Bill was preceded in death by his son Kenneth W. Rice and brother-in-law, Tom Storer.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, 7376 IN State Road 75, in Jamestown, Indiana. Porter and Hunt Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with his arrangements.
Memorials may be made in his memory to American Legion Post 113, 1020 Hendricks Dr, Lebanon, IN 46052, Hendricks County Forty & Eight Voiture 1390 to American Legion Lincoln Post 331, 636 East Main Street, Brownsburg, IN 46112 or to the charity of donor’s choice.
