The Town of Zionsville recognized a local lieutenant for his dedicated service to the Zionsville Police Department as he received a proclamation from Zionsville Mayor John Stehr.
Yesterday, Stehr officially proclaimed Feb. 13, 2025, as Chuck White Day in Zionsville in honor of Zionsville Police Department Lt. Charles “Chuck” White as he celebrated his 30th year of dedicated service to the department and the town.
Lt. White began his career with the department on Feb. 13, 1995, when he was appointed to the Zionsville Marshal’s Office. Over the past three decades, he has served under five marshals and police chiefs, holding roles as a patrol officer, investigator and the town’s first Director of Facility Security. Stehr commented that his leadership and commitment to public safety have made a lasting impact on the department and the community.
“Zionsville is a different place than it was when Chuck joined ZPD three decades ago,” Stehr said. “It’s no exaggeration to say that he has played a significant role in helping keep us safe and secure as our town has evolved.”
Zionsville Police Chief Spears also praised Lt. White’s contributions to the community, thanking him for his continued dedication to the department and the town’s citizens.
“I am extremely proud of Lieutenant White and his thirty years of dedication and service to the people of Zionsville,” Spears said. “His work and leadership have helped make and keep Zionsville one of the most desirable and safest towns in the country. He cares deeply for our community, and this care is clearly reflected in his daily service. Thank you, Chuck, for thirty outstanding years. You are sincerely appreciated.”
Throughout his tenure, Lt. White has been recognized with numerous awards, including a Meritorious Service Award and a Citation for his work in solving a bank robbery in 2013, a Chief’s Award for Excellence in 2019 and the prestigious honor of graduating from the FBI National Academy in 2016.
