20-Year-Old Indianapolis Man Accused in I-465 Shooting Incident

Indiana State Police Detectives have arrested a man for his alleged role in a June 3, 2026 interstate shooting in Indianapolis.

Wednesday evening, around 7:30 p.m., Indiana State Police Dispatchers received several 911 calls about shots fired from one vehicle toward another on I-465 westbound near Allisonville Road on the northeast side of Indianapolis. Troopers immediately responded to the area but were unable to immediately locate the suspect vehicle. There were no injuries, however a black SUV had what appeared to be bullet holes in the side. It is also believed the black SUV was the targeted vehicle and no bystanders were injured and there is no other known property damage.

Troopers quickly developed a description and possible license plate number of the suspect’s vehicle. ISP Detectives followed up on leads, examined evidence and utilized license plate cameras to locate the suspect. A search warrant for the suspect’s car, a silver Dodge Charger, was granted. Friday June 5, 2026 the Dodge Charger was located and a suspect was arrested. He is identified as 20 year old Josiah J. Flowers of Indianapolis. He was transported to the state police post and subsequently to jail. He is being arrested on the probable cause of Criminal Recklessness, Pointing a Firearm and Intimidation.

All actions mentioned in this release are alleged and all suspects are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in court. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will now review the case to determine criminal charges.
