A total of 28 non-profit organizations offering services in our communities participated in the Second Annual Points of Light Volunteer Fair Tuesday in the 4-H Building at the Clinton County Fairgrounds. And, from all indications, the event was quite successful.

“This is a very good thing for the community,” said Frankfort City Councilman Jim Moyer, who was representing the Optimist Club. “A lot of people don’t realize how many organizations there are that they can get involved with that volunteer their time and even their money.”

Nancy Conklin, who is the Community Health and Wellness Coordinator for the Clinton County Family YMCA, agreed with Moyer’s assessment.

“I think there a lot more organizations in the county that rely on volunteer help just to operate and help make ends meet,” said Conklin. “It’s a great way to bring awareness to what all our county has when it comes to where they can help.”

Jennifer Ping of Shelter Insurance was representing both the Optimist Club and Autism Society of Indiana.

“I didn’t realize how much there was in this community,” said Ping. “It’s very nice to have everybody in one location.”

The non-profit organizations who participated in the Fair were AARP Tax Aid, Abilities Services, American Legion Post #12, American Red Cross, Autism Society of Indiana, Clinton County Center Township, Clinton County Fair Council, Clinton County Family Literacy, Clinton County Family YMCA, Clinton County Medical Reserve Corporation, COACH Kids of Clinton County, Frankfort Community Public Library, Frankfort Kiwanis Club, Frankfort Lions Club, Frankfort Police Department, Girl Scouts of Central Indiana, Healthy Communities of Clinton County Coalition, Learning Network of Clinton County, MDwise, Open Door Clinic, Optimist Club, Quinton’s House Child Advocacy Center, Relay for Life, Salvation Army, The ARC of Clinton County, The Crossing School of Business and Entrepreneurship, United Way for Clinton County and Wesley Manor Retirement Community.
