Senator Dick Lugar used to run in the Flora Hog Jog as part of the rich tradition of this fun event.  The 500 meter Runt Jog for kids 2 to 7 make up the special day. 10K, 2 mile run and walk also increase the heart rate for almost 450 participates in the 2018 races.

50,000 Watt WSHW Shine 99’s Cindy Loveless broadcast from the finish line 7:30 to 9:30 this morning.  Cindy’s interviews included chatting with Madison Rahschulte, a 13 year old eighth-grader at St. Lawrence School in Lawrence, Indiana.    Madison took on the challenge four years ago, of running in all 92 Counties in Indiana. This 92 County effort culminated today at the 40th annual Flora Hog Jog.

Madison’s 92 county run started with her first run, the Decatur Color Run on June 14, 2014.  Four years, 24,063.4 car miles later, parents Scott and Rebecca Rahschulte got to see thier daughter cross the “finish line of all her finish lines” in Flora this morning.  Lawrence Indiana is located just across the Ohio State line near Cincinnati.

Runners for the event come from as far as Pennsylvania. For the first year ever, there will be IPL sanctioned “Pork Pull” competition tractor pulls and truck drags to punctuate the special day at the Flora Park.
