Frankfort Volleyball Downs Lebanon in Three Games

The Frankfort High School girls’ volleyball team capped off a busy week with a 3-0 victory over Lebanon Thursday night.

The serving of Tarah Martinez started each game off on the right path. She was 15 for 15 serving and had five aces. Leading the team in kills were Bella Colby and Maicee Sterrett with six each, while Lindsey Gay and Martinez each added five apiece. Allyson Timmons had four kills and Morgan Adamson had three kills and 10 digs. Mercedez Toney had a team-high 10 digs and Sydni Whitaker added eight digs.

The JV fell to a strong Lebanon team, keeping each game competitive. Leading the way was Eryka Pillion with three aces and 15 digs. Emma Pillion had five assists and Jazzy Oppelt had five digs.

Wednesday night in Tri-West, FHS fell to the host Bruins. Adamson led in kills with five while Colby and Gay each had four. Sterrett led in digs with 15 and Martinez added 13. Toney and Whitaker each added nine digs.

Tuesday night at Sheridan, the varsity was victorious. Timmons led in kills with 11, while Sterrett and Gay each added nine kills. Gay also had 34 assists and Bella Colby had eight kills. .Martinez had seven kills and 20 digs, while Adamson had 20 digs and six kills.

Girls’ Soccer Wins OT Thriller

Liz Cruz Sandoval scored two goals, including the game-winner with three seconds remaining in overtime, to give the Lady Hot Dogs a 4-3 Sagamore Conference victory over Southmont Tuesday.

Sandoval also had an assist for FHS, now 6-2 on the year and 2-0 in the Sagamore.

Frankfort, which rallied from a 3-1 halftime deficit to get the victory, also had goals from Ari Regalado and Meli Alanis. Nataly Cruz had an assist, while Vannessa Guardado had three saves and Jessie Ramos added a pair of saves.

Boys’ Soccer Falls to Crawfordsville

Crawfordsville scored a pair of early goals and added another before halftime en route to a 4-1 victory Thursday night on the Hot Dogs’ Senior Night. The Hot Dogs lone goal came on a penalty kick by Yobi Trenando.

The Hot Dogs are now 5-4 on the season and 2-2 in conference play.

The JV battled to a 2-2 tie with the Athenians. Alex Castro had both goals for FHS, now 2-2-1 on the year.

Tuesday night in Lebanon, FHS fell to the Tigers 3-1. Trenando scored the lone goal for the Hot Dogs.

FHS Girls’ Golf

The Lady Hot Dogs took on McCutcheon and Kokomo for Senior Night on Wednesday. Sydney Cesare led FHS with a 41 followed by Emilee Shipley at 53 and Raelyn Mitchell had a 55.

The night before against Tipton and Rossville, Cesare led the way with a 39. .Shipley had a 48 and Mitchell wound up with a 50.

Hot Dogs Fall to Tri-West

Frankfort fell to Tri-West last Friday night 50-14 in Lizton. Riley Goodnight led the rushing attack with 165 yards and two touchdown, while Gabe Chavez led the defense with 16 tackles.

7th Grade Football

Amrin Barrett scored two touchdowns and Creed Mennen added one to help lead Clinton Central to a 22-6 victory over Clinton Prairie Thursday night.
