Twelve individuals were named Clinton County Gems during a ceremony at the Clinton County Historical Museum Sunday afternoon.
“I was so delighted to see such a large crowd of people,” said Museum Director Nancy Hart. “I was equally delighted to have so much of the museum prepared for that group of people. Everything went really, really well.”
The 12 new members are Nancy Ward, Jeff Ward, Rita Betts, Mel Betts, Jim Michaels, Lousia Hoffman, Linda Brammell, Glenda Frey, Melanie Holsclaw, Bill Holsclaw, Steve Frey and Dorothy Chittick. With these new inductees, there are now 130 individuals who have been named Clinton County Gems since this began in 2007.
Clinton County Gems are persons who serve, volunteer and generously share their time, talents and resources. Our ‘Gems’ shine brightly in the community, they fill voids, pick up the slack and share the loads of many. ‘Gems’ lead by example, often behind the scenes, creating opportunity, assisting with challenges, and making a difference in the lives of the citizenry of Clinton County.
Hart said the museum is going to have another big event in the near future.
“In March, we will have a grand opening,” said Hart. “I’m sure that will happen. It’s just the work that’s going to be involved getting the archives back together and the train room put back together.”
