Maureen Ann Johnson

Maureen Ann Johnson, 89, of Flora, is now with the Lord joining her husband and son in their heavenly home, after passing away, Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.  She was born June 8, 1935, in Bellingham, Washington, to John T. and Jeanette (O’Dell) Reilly.  She married Charles Lee Johnson on June 23, 1956, in Flora, IN; he preceded her in death.

Maureen worked at Bright National Bank (now First Financial) for many years, but her true work was being a mother and raising her family.  She was a member of the Living Faith Church of the Brethren and Delta Theta Chi Sorority.  She enjoyed playing cards and being a part of the card club, square dancing, was devoted to church, and loved being a grandmother.

Maureen is survived by her daughter, Cheryl A. Shaffer; sons, David Clark (Linda Lou) Johnson, Philip Lee Johnson, and Todd Alan (Jeanna) Johnson; siblings, Peggy (Larry) Schumacher, Suzie (Art, deceased) Herron, Janice (Tom, deceased) Rogerson, and Patsy Reilly; sister-in-law, Waneta Johnson; brothers-in-law, Ed Brewster and Robert (Sandra) Johnson; grandchildren, Chad (Jessica Kingery) Shaffer, Tori Shaffer, Chelsie (Ryan) Pendleton, Austin (Ashley) Johnson, Alex (Brandi) Johnson, Leslie (Shawn) Wright, Riley Johnson, Seth Johnson, Corey (Amanda) Johnson, and Mercedes (Troy) Patton; and many great-grandchildren.

Along with her husband, she is preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael D. Johnson; grandson, Matthew Phillippo; son-in-law, Todd M. Shaffer; and sister, Myrna Willanger.

Visitation will be held from 11am until the start of the funeral service at 2pm on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Living Faith Church of the Brethren, 310 N 250 W, Flora, IN 46929. Pastor Guy Studebaker and Jerry Sibbitt will officiate. Burial will follow in Maple Lawn Cemetery.  Arrangements are with Day & Genda Funeral Home~ Reinke Chapel in Flora.
