The City of Frankfort is gearing up for a spooktacular and safe Halloween weekend, encouraging all residents to participate in the upcoming Trick-or-Treat hours and downtown events.
Official city-wide Trick-or-Treat hours were approved during Monday evening’s Board of Public Works meeting. The hours are from5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Friday, October 31st. Residents who wish to participate in passing out treats are asked to leave their porch lights on.
Frankfort Police Chief Scott Shoemaker emphasizes the importance of safety during these hours. “We want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable Halloween,” said Chief Shoemaker. “Motorists should be extra vigilant and watch for children walking in neighborhoods, especially as it gets dark. Parents, please ensure your children are visible and always accompany younger children. Let’s all do our part to make this a safe and fun night for our community.”
Downtown Halloween events on Friday, October 31st, include the Frankfort Main Street Trick or Treat on the Square from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM, with the Kids’ Costume Contest at Veterans Park starting at 6:00 PM.
The Frankfort Unified Neighborhoods (F.U.N) Trunk or Treat Contest will take place downtown at 6:30 PM along West Washington Street.
The City encourages everyone to come out and enjoy the community events and celebrate Halloween responsibly.
