Clinton Central FFA Students Earn Top Honors at District LDE Competition

 Members of the Clinton Central FFA Chapter celebrated a strong showing at the recent district Leadership Development Event (LDE) competition, earning multiple first-place finishes and several additional top-three placements.

Leadership Development Events, organized through the National FFA Organization, allow students to develop leadership, communication, and agricultural knowledge through competitive demonstrations and presentations.

First-Place Finishes

Clinton Central students brought home several first-place awards, including:

  • Discovery Horticulture Demonstration: Peytyn Schimmel and Kalli Rule

  • Novice Chapter Meeting: Paitlyn Haley, Hailey Morgan, Owen Wellman, Hadley Sacha, Kalli Rule, and Raegan Myers (Sophia Harshbarger and Macie Brovont also contributed but were not pictured)

  • Discovery Creed Speaking: Hadley Sacha

  • Exhibit: Alex Davison, Kody Pickard, Logan Kirkendall, Brodie Payne, and Jaison Evans (with Aiden Dellinger and Keaton Cannaday pictured)

 

 

 

Second-Place Awards

Several students also earned second-place honors:

  • Discovery Food Science Demonstration: Sarah Yeager and Zander Weldy

  • Horticulture and Landscape Management Demonstration: Avery Yeager

  • Discovery Animal Science Demonstration: Elias Duke and Landen Crider

Third-Place Results

Additional third-place finishes included:

  • Discovery Quiz Bowl Team: Levi Cline, Sarah Yeager, Elliot Thorley, and Hailey Morgan

  • Freshman Prepared Public Speaking: Paitlyn Haley

  • Extemporaneous Speaking: Ethan Sheets

Building Leadership Skills

Leadership Development Events are designed to help students practice public speaking, teamwork, and problem-solving while building confidence in agricultural education.

Officials with the Clinton Central FFA Chapter said the strong results reflect the hard work and dedication of the students and their commitment to leadership within the agriculture community.

The competition marks another successful milestone for the chapter as students continue developing skills that prepare them for future careers and leadership roles in agriculture and beyond.
