The February 5 fatal fire at 2243 Rossville Avenue has been ruled accidental with the cause being electrical, Frankfort Fire Investigator Adam Hoke announced Wednesday.
The fire resulted in the death of 39-year-old Jason Trail Sr. and injured five others, all of whom have recovered from their injuries, which was mostly smoke inhalation. Firefighters had pulled Trail from the burning house and performed CPR on him at the scene prior to him being lifelined to Eskenazi Hospital.
Firefighters responded to the fully-involved fire at the two-story farmhouse in the early morning hours on February 5. With mutual aid from Rossville and Mulberry, firefighters had the fire under control in less than two hours.
