Arborwood LLC Named New Managers at Frankfort Commons

The Board of Works on Wednesday unanimously named Arborwood LLC, better known as Shoup’s, to become the new management group for the Frankfort Commons Golf Course. The deal is for one year and begins in 2020.

Arborwood LLC will take over for Oliphant Golf Management, which has run the course for the past three years. Frankfort Mayor Chris McBarnes said the golf committee felt it was time for a local entity to try and run the golf course. McBarnes thanked Oliphant for its years of service.

The next step in this process is a public hearing on Wednesday, November 6, at 2 p.m. Once the public hearing is held, an agreement will need to be finalized.

In other news, Community Development Director Annie Bacon said the new mural on the side of the building where Gem City Junction is located at the corner of Jackson and Clinton is now complete.

Also, Alicia Albertson, who representing Zonta, asked the Board of Works to put up signs for the group’s 16 Days of Activism, which runs November 25 through December 10.
