BOAH Hosts Quarterly Lunch & Learn Webinar Feb. 19 For HPAI & Small Poultry Flock Education

The Indiana State Board of Animal Health, BOAH, will continue its quarterly lunch-and-learn webinar series with a session focused on highly pathogenic avian influenza, known as HPAI, and small poultry flocks on Wednesday, Feb. 19.

The one-hour session will be held next Wednesday, Feb. 19 at noon as a free webinar through Microsoft Teams. The session will be recorded and posted to the BOAH YouTube channel at a later date.

Veterinarians and registered veterinary technicians who participate in the webinar may earn one hour of continuing education credit.

The webinar will be led by Purdue University Animal Science Poultry Specialist Darrin Karcher who will address issues important to those who own small poultry flocks. The topics covered will include:

  • What community members need to know about highly pathogenic avian influenza
  • Biosecurity
  • Practical ways to protect a flock

Participants are encouraged to submit questions for Dr. Karcher prior to the webinar by emailing animalhealth@boah.in.gov.
