The Clinton Prairie Class of 1974 will be holding a reunion on Saturday, October 6, at The Trails in Lafayette. Doors open at 5 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m. Cost is $30 a person. The United Way School Supply Drive is going on through August 3. Individuals are encouraged to donate school supplies for children in need. Supplies can be dropped off at the United Way office, 1100 Walnut Avenue, Frankfort. For more information, call 654-5573.

 

The American Red Cross is holding three blood drives in Clinton County in August. They are: Friday, August 3 — IU Health Frankfort, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Saturday, August 4 — Frankfort High School, 2-8 p.m.; and Thursday, August 9 — First Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

 

The Paul Philippe Resource Center has announced its schedule of events for August: Tuesday, August 7 —  $2 State Fair Day, leave at 8 a.m., OYO; Thursday, August 16 — ‘The Shack’, leave at 8:30 a.m., lunch OYO; Wednesday, August 29 — Myers Dinner Theatre Matinee, leave at 10 a.m., must pre-pay $45 no later than August 21. In His Image, formerly First General Baptist Church, 2940 E. 50 North, Kokomo, will be having a Country Breakfast on Saturday, August 4, from 7-10 a.m. Menu will include sausage, scrambled eggs, sausage gravy, biscuits, pancakes, orange juice and coffee. The Clinton County Health Department in partnership with Healthy Communities of Clinton County are hosting a free Naloxone (Narcan) Kit Training and Distribution for Lay Responders on Tuesday, July 31, at 6 p.m. at the Kirklin Fire Department, 103 W. The Jobs for Life Initiative is now accepting applications for Jobs for Life students. Classes begin Tuesday, September 18, at 6:30 p.m. at the First Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 352 West Clinton Street. Classes will continue each Tuesday and Thursday nights through November 8. Applications can be picked up at the Clinton County Chamber of Commerce at 62 North Main Street or the First Evangelical Presbyterian Church. There is no charge to students for attending classes. The Central Indiana DNA Interest Group (CIDIG) will be presenting a workshop entitled ‘Adding DNA Testing to Your Genealogy Toolkit’ at the Frankfort Community Public Library on Saturday, August 4, from 12:30-4:30 p.m. in Room 219. Dane Bailey, the Singing Auctioneer, will be at the Burlington Community Park Building on Friday, August 3, at 7 p.m. for a benefit concert and auction. Local handcrafted and baked good items will be auctioned off with proceeds going to the community building improvements. Cost is a free-will donation.

 

The Haleigh & Callie Annual Cut-A-Thon will be held  Saturday, August 4, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Back-porch Salon, 2492 Glick St., Lafayette. All donations will go to the Haleigh and Callie Memorial Fund. For more information, call 765-413-5193.

The Kokomo High School Class of 2008 10-Year Reunion will be held Saturday, August 25, from 6-9 p.m. at Kelley Agricultural Museum in Sharpsville. There will be food and drinks, music and catching up with old friends. Tickets are $25 per person and $40 for a pair. Individuals are asked to buy tickets in advance to help estimate number for catering purposes. Also, this event is adults only.

The 2018 Clinton County Chamber of Commerce Golf Outing will be held Thursday, September 6, at the Frankfort Commons Golf Course. There will be a hog roast by Shoup’s Country Foods. There are many unique sponsorship opportunities available from $75 and up, golfers are $95 and include cart, breakfast, snacks and lunch. For more information, call 654-5507.

 

The Paw Prints 4-H Dog Club, along with their sponsors Arni’s and Cintas, cordially invite you to Arni’s After Dark at the Clinton County Fairgrounds promptly at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, September 10. This is a Gatsby Themed Murder Mystery Dinner. The cost is $250 for a table of four or $65 per person will include  a five-course gourmet meal, Gatsby Themed selfie station, door prizes, silent auction (cash or check only) and many surprises throughout the evening.
