During the week of August 26, the following gas stations in Clinton County will be donating $.02 per gallon to One80 Recovery Resources. The funds raised will go towards the capital project to construct the new One80 Sober Living Home on Roy Scott Parkway (200 West). Good to Go locations: 1401 S. Jackson St., Frankfort; 201 S. Columbia St., Frankfort; 7701 W. State Road 28, Frankfort; and 505 N. Jackson St., Frankfort; Clark Gas Station at 1795 W. State Road 28, Frankfort; Friendly Mart locations: 253 W. Walnut St., Frankfort and 15 S. Plank St., Rossville.

 

The Clinton County Immunization Clinic will accept walk-ins for immunizations needed for school or children on Medicaid or who are uninsured on Wednesday, August 28 and Wednesday, October 23, from 1-7 p.m. in Room 3054 at IU Health Frankfort Hospital. Flu shots will be available at the October date. Also, on Wednesday, October 9, from 3-7 p.m., walk-in immunizations at the Clinton County Health Department for all ages, who are insured with commercial insurance or Medicare. School immunizations, flu and pneumonia shots will be available. Call 656-3350 for information.

 

The American Red Cross will hold blood drives at the following location: August 31: St. Vincent Medical Group, 2485 E. Wabash St., Frankfort from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; September 5: First Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 352 W. The Jobs for Life Initiative is now accepting applications for Jobs for Life students. The Jobs for Life class, sponsored by area churches and local businesses, is a faith based program that equips men and women to find employment by learning the necessary skills required for employment. Classes begin Tuesday, September 17, 6:15 p.m. at the First Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 352 W. Clinton St., Frankfort. Classes will continue each Tuesday and Thursday nights through November 8. If you know of someone who performs good works for Frankfort, submit his or her name for consideration for our monthly Community Heroes recognition. To do so, either pick up a nomination form at our studios — on Main Street in downtown Frankfort — or the Frankfort Community Public Library.

The Miami County Artisan Gallery, 20 N. Broadway, Peru, presents its 2019 Dinner Theatre on Saturday, September 7, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. This is the second mystery, music and dining event for today’s adult problem solvers. The mystery package is ‘Let’s Meet the Neighbors’ created by Mayhem 4 Hire (Pat Piper and Company). The program scene is a party hosted by the new housing development, ‘Foxmore’, and the participants are those new residents. The Clinton County Democrats cordially invite you to a BBQ Dinner that includes pork barbecue, sides, drinks and desserts at the Michigantown Community Center, on Saturday, September 7, from 4-7 p.m. There will be special guest speakers and a silent auction. The event is a free will offering.

 

Carroll County Sheriff Tobe Leazenby will speak at County Chapel located at 8721 E. County Road 200 North in Michigantown on Sunday, September 8, starting at 10:30 a.m. A pitch-in dinner will follow the service. The public is cordially invited. The Wonder Workers 4-H Club Chicken and Noodle Dinner will be held Saturday, September 14, from 4:30-7 p.m. at the Michigantown Community Building. Menu includes chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans, bread and butter, cole slaw, pie or brownie and drink. Cost is $10 per adult and $5 for kids 8-and-under. The Kilmore United Methodist Church Annual Fish Fry and Country Store with quilt raffle will be held on Tuesday, September 17, from 4:30-7 p.m. Tickets are $11 for adult and $5 for children.

 

The Clinton County Soil and Water Conservation District recently launched its annual tree and shrub sale. All trees and shrubs are grown and shipped in 3-gallon containers. Tree pick-up is scheduled for September 27.

 

MarriageRestored is a weekend for couples who are in crisis or have been in crisis. It is not a marriage clinic, counseling session or sensitivity group, but rather an opportunity for couples to examine their relationship using a proven communication technique.
