Workers work on baking 40 pies for the Community Thanksgiving Dinner on Tuesday. The dinner will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the Neighborhood Center in Frankfort.

On Tuesday, the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office female inmate workers teamed up with the Jail’s Kitchen Food Vendor, Kellwell, to make and bake 40 pies for the Community Thanksgiving Dinner. These ladies productively assembled these pies this morning between breakfast and lunch service as their community service project for the holiday season.  The pie flavors included pecan and pumpkin.

Director of the Community Thanksgiving Dinner, Aaron Congleton, was on site with Sheriff Rich Kelly and Jail Matron Ashley Kelly. Kellwell Manager Dawn Burns was on hand to provide assistance as well. Kellwell works hard to hire local residents to serve the needs of the Clinton County Jail, and they have been a great addition to our vendor list since April 2019.

“Once again, our Inmates did not disappoint,” said Ashley Kelly. “They made great pies from scratch in our kitchen, with the wonderful assistance of our food vendor, Kellwell, and they are proud of the product they put out for the dinner donation. It is important to give back, especially during the holidays. We are very proud of this collaboration and look forward to future events.”
