Frankfort Library to Host True Crime Book Club

Starting on May 3, the Frankfort Community Public Library will host a rue Crime Book Club at 6 p.m. on the first Thursday of every month. Meetings will be held in Harry’s Coffee Bar, with drinks and snacks available for purchase. Registration is not required and attendance is free.

Instead of using the traditional assigned titles, the True Crime Book Club will instead have monthly themes. This allows members to choose books that best suit their interests, and avoid the chance of assigning a title that might be too gory for some members. It also means the group gets the chance to talk about a wider range of cases at the meetings!

The theme for May is Your Favorite Murder. Those interested in the group should come prepared to talk about their favorite true crime book. For example, someone who is fascinated by Ted Bundy might talk about Anne Rule’s The Stranger Beside Me, while another person who is more interested in cults might choose Jeff Guinn’s The Road to Jonestown. Those new to the true crime genre should feel free to stop by the Adult Services desk for recommendations.
