Frankfort Police Department Provides Updates For 6-Year-Old Boy Struck By Vehicle

The Frankfort Police Department released updated information regarding the incident where a juvenile was struck by a vehicle on Monday in Frankfort.

The department released that on April 8, just before 4:45 p.m., officers responded to reports of a juvenile who was struck by a vehicle on Fifth Street north of Freeman Street.

Authorities report that upon arrival, officers located a 6-year-old male who sustained injuries in the collision, and Clinton County EMS and Frankfort Fire Department first responders arrived on the scene to provide medical treatment.

Officers report that the child was transported to the Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis, and the driver of the vehicle, Axle Brandenburg, remained on the scene and cooperated with the investigation after initially contacting 911 regarding the incident.

The department released that the initial crash reports indicated that Brandenburg turned north on Fifth Street after stopping on Freeman Street, and witness reports and evidence at the scene indicates that the child attempted to cross Fifth Street between parked vehicles along the roadway when he was struck.
