The Frankfort Rotary Club was Chartered on May 1, 1919. 100 years later the club’s 58 members, District Rotary leaders and the Frankfort Community celebrated Rotary’s 100th year of service.
What is the significance of Rotary in Clinton County? Why does Rotary matter? Here are some of the ways Rotary has tried to make Clinton County and the world a better place to live, work and play:
-Splash Pad Sponsor at the new Prairie Creek Park now under construction.
-Restoration of the TPA park Caboose
-Installation of bleachers at TPA park tennis courts
-Installation of walking trail signs throughout Frankfort
-Annual gift of dictionaries to every Clinton County student in 4th grade
-Annual Frankfort Rotary Speech contest for state-wide recognition and scholarships for area students.
-Construction and volunteer support of the Joe Doan Baseball Field north of the swimming pool at TPA Park.
-Over a dozen high quality metal benches throughout Frankfort to provide rest and a sidewalk amenity.
-Monitary support for quality organizations in Clinton County including YMCA, Clinton County Boys and Girls Club, Frankfort Public Library, Camp Cullom, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and other community building organizations.
-Large “smart board” projector/screen used for learning sessions such as Science Academy at Camp Cullom nature center
-Shelter and fireplace area at Camp Cullom
-Exploration and feasibly study of utilizing Camp Cullom Science Academy day for expanded STEM program for selected elementary students state-wide.
-Tens of Thousands of dollars from Frankfort Rotary Club members alone have been donated to eradicate Polio world-wide through the Paul Harris Program and the Rotary Foundation. So far this year only 15 cases of Polio have been reported in the entire world.
-Sponsorship of over 1,000 fresh water wells and sanitation projects in over 100 countries installed to reduce disease, infant death and profound inconvenience to communities world-wide. Frankfort Rotary took an active part in providing these wells and sanitary water projects.

Greg Yank, Rotary International Board Member, gave the keynote speech and District Governor Dale Basham also celebrated the 100 years of Service with the Club.
The centennial celebration committee organizing the event included Committee Chair Larry Price and Troy Bacon, Kirsten Clark, Kathy Martin, Carol Price, Tom Ransom, Travis Sheets. President of Frankfort Rotary this year is Richard Greeno.
