Frankfort Woman Arrested For Dealing Counterfeit Pills

A Frankfort woman was arrested Thursday after a two-month investigation that revealed she was dealing in counterfeit pills.

According to the Frankfort Police Department, officers and K-9 units conducted a traffic stop in the 4000 Block of West State Road 28 for Whitney Grice, 33, of Frankfort on Thursday, April 4, where Grice was found to be in possession of counterfeit pills that appeared to officers to be Percocet, or oxycodone, but were revealed to be fentanyl pills.

Officers report that Grice was arrested and charges will be reviewed by the Clinton County Prosecutor’s Office. With the knowledge from the Drug Enforcement Administration that laboratory testing indicates that seven of every 10 pills seized by the department contain a lethal dose of fentanyl, Chief Scott Shoemaker released a statement of gratitude for the officers who worked to remove the pills from circulation in the region.

“I am grateful for our dedicated narcotics unit who conduct the operations that put drug dealers behind bars,” Shoemaker said. “At some point, people who deal potentially lethal doses of drugs need to get the hint. You will be caught.”

Preliminary charges have been filed to the Prosecutor’s Office pending review. The Frankfort Police Department issued a reminder that all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
