Inside INdiana Business is reporting one of the largest health care providers in the state estimates its community benefit in 2017 reached approximately $583 million. Indiana University Health also reflected on major projects throughout the state that were launched last year, including replacing the old IU Health Bloomington Hospital, integrating maternity and neonatal services at Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health by 2020 and expanding patient, operating room and lab capacity at IU Health West Hospital in Indianapolis.
It says planning continues for the $1 billion consolidation efforts of its downtown Indianapolis adult academic health center, which will involve . The plans, which will involve University Hospital, Methodist Hospital and Riley Hospital For Children, were initially announced in 2015 and are now pegged for completion in 2026.
It also announced the addition of Frankfort Hospital into the system and Jay County Hospital’s integration, which is set to be complete next month. IU Health’s footprint is expected to expand in Fort Wayne, including a new Riley Children’s Health specialty clinic and a primary care office by year’s end.
In 2017, IU Health is reporting over 10 million interactions with “patients, their families and the larger community.”
