Mayor Lays Out Plans For Monthly Event

Frankfort Mayor Judy Sheets and joined her department heads for an informal meeting with members of the public Thursday afternoon at Gem City Junction in downtown Frankfort,

Sheets said she wanted to inform the public with happenings in the community.

“We’re hoping to get the community out, involve them with what’s going on and let them know what each department is doing because they don’t know,” said Sheets.

Department heads from the City of Frankfort spoke to apporixmately20 individuals who attended the meeting. Police Chief Scott Shoemaker was the first to talk followed by Fire Departmemt Chief Matt Stidham, Parks Superintendent Bart Kraning, Housing Inspector Don Stock, Community Development Director Kimberly Black and Clerk-Treasurer Carol Bartley.

Sheets added she wants this a monthly staple for the city.

“We’re hoping to have the next one at Fresitas and I think that it will more towards the evening hours,” said Sheets. “We haven’t set the time definitely yet. We’re hoping to get some people after working hours that could come to that.”
