Sarah “Sue” (Smith) Bailey, 84, of Frankfort, IN passed away on August 12, 2019 at Wesley Manor. She was born November 11, 1934 in Granite, OK to Bedford Harlen & Lovie Lee (Wright) Smith. She married Rev. Wilbur C. Bailey on October 8, 1954 in Fairdale, KY and he preceded in death on February 10, 2010.
Sue was a 1953 graduate of Sout
hern High School. A pastor’s wife, she and her husband started their ministry in 1960 at Paoli, IN pastoring in various locations before retiring to Frankfort in 2005. She was a member of the Frankfort Bible Holiness Church. She enjoyed music, playing the piano, especially playing for the residents at Clinton House, gardening and talking to her best friend on the phone.
She is survived by: Daughter: Marsena Bailey Proctor of Frankfort, IN, 2 Daughters-in-Law: Cheryl Bailey of Frankfort, IN and Peggy (Paul) Seeley of New Castle, IN, Sister: Margaret Votaw of Louisville, KY, 2 Sisters-in-Law: Marie Smith of Louisville, KY and Wanda Bailey of Clarksville, IN, 5 Grandchildren: Jonathan (Julie) Bailey, Susan Bailey, Jennifer (Wesley) Grissom, Deborah Bailey, and Rachel Bailey, 6 Great Grandchildren: Madison (Jordan) Jackson, Dakota Bailey, Arilynn, Weston, Camden & Grayson Grissom.
She was preceded in death by two sons; Mark Bailey and Dale Bailey, son-in-law; Robert S. Proctor, step-grandson; Calvin S. Proctor, and 2 brothers.
Funeral Celebration:
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday, August 15, 2019 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Funeral Celebration will be 11 a.m. Friday, August 16, 2019 at Frankfort Bible Holiness Church, 1947 W. Barner St., Frankfort, with visitation there from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service.
