The Lebanon Middle School project is intended to modernize the educational facility to ensure that students are able to thrive academically and personally within its walls. The project remains in the conceptual phase, but with the new renderings, the corporation has begun to cement the prospective improvements that the project will bring to Lebanon Middle School.

The project is currently being planned to increase the building capacity from 800 to 1,200 students, increase the safety for students arriving to school by implementing a new separated bus parking zone, add a new cafeteria and kitchen for lunch periods, add a new central corridor, expand the car drop-off area for parents picking up and dropping off their students, add new band and art rooms, extend the physical education areas and athletic locker rooms and expand and update the STEM classrooms.

In a release regarding the new look at the renovation plan, the corporation stated that “this project is more than just construction; it’s an investment in the future of our middle school students, providing them with a modern and dynamic educational facility.”

The Lebanon Middle School project will take off as other construction projects in the district are coming to a close or ramping up progress.

The Harney Elementary School and Perry-Worth Elementary School expansion and renovation projects broke ground in the summer of 2023 for interior renovations to better accommodate the growing student population and modernize the learning environment.

The New Central Elementary School project broke ground in November 2023 with a goal to create a state-of-the-art elementary school to replace the current Central Elementary. The goal of the new Central Elementary School is to modernize the facility and bring its resources up to the quality of the resources available at the other elementary schools within the district. Superintendent Dr. Jon Milleman has commented numerous times that the main goal of the elementary school projects is to provide the same quality of resources, activities and learning opportunities at every school to every student every day to ensure that every student receives the resources they need to succeed regardless of zip code.

The new Transportation Center was another project set to kick off in 2024, which will implement sound-absorbing acoustics to reduce the noise to the surrounding area, mounding on the eastern side for aesthetics and functionality, increased bus parking capacity, access to John Bart Road to help streamline the transportation operations, staff parking for improved safety, canopy coverings for the buses to prevent avoidable wear and tear and covered fueling stations.

The Lebanon High School Varsity softball field project is expected to be completed by the spring softball season with a turf field, viewing berm in the outfield, new press box and dugouts, new concession stand and ticket booth, sidewalks extending to all fields, perimeter fence enclosing the baseball and softball complex and additional parking spaces for the softball and baseball complex that may also be utilized for access to the soccer fields.
