The Delphi Police Department announced that it has added another ballistic windshield to the fleet through the Remember Officer Noah Foundation, Inc. to protect its officers during their patrols.

The newest ballistic windshield marks the eighth installation for the department through the Remember Officer Noah Foundation, Inc., which was founded in honor of Officer Noah Shahnavaz of the Elwood Police Department, who made the ultimate sacrifice on July 31, 2022 when he was killed in the line of duty by gunfire through his windshield.

Shahnavaz’s parents traveled to Delphi to present the Delphi Police Department with a check for the installation of the eighth ballistics windshield, which was installed by Magic Glass. The Remember Officer Noah Foundation, Inc. released a statement as to the reasoning behind its support for the ballistics windshields for the Delphi Police Department.

“We recently heard about how the Delphi Police Department was working on outfitting their entire fleet of police vehicles, and we knew we wanted to be a part of helping them do that,” the foundation released. “This past Friday, we went to Delphi to present a check to Chief LaMar to purchase one windshield.”

The foundation announced that it is currently working with seven departments for another 15 windshields it will seek to be granted by the end of the year. The foundation stated that if the 15 windshields are installed, it will have fulfilled 19 of its 39 donations its aspires to achieve.

“Thanks again to our supporters for helping us to extend Noah’s legacy,” the foundation released.
