Raíces Festival Mini Model: Flag Recreation Challenge Entries Due Sept. 11

The Purdue Extension Office of Clinton County has announced the upcoming deadline for the Mini Model: Flag Recreational unconventional items challenge for the Raíces Festival in September.

The office stated that entries for the unconventional items challenge will be due Wednesday, Sept. 11 before 3 p.m. at the Purdue Extension Office at 1111 S. Jackson St. in Frankfort.

The challenge tasks community members with building a replica of a flag utilizing unconventional materials and including a short description of the replica made, the country it represents and an image of the original flag. All entries must be handmade, must be two-feet by three-feet maximum and must be 18-inches tall maximum. Teams creating the flag may be comprised of one to four people, and the challenge is open to all Clinton County community members above the age of five.

Prizes include $200 for the first-place replica, $100 for the second-place replica and $50 for the third-place replica. Prizes will be awarded on Saturday, Sept. 21 on stage with all project models being exhibited during the Raíces Festival.
