Clinton County Sheriff’s Office Releases 2024 Accomplishments

The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office released its end-of-year statistics and accomplishments from 2024 for its Jail and Investigation Divisions.

The department saw the moral reconation therapy programming a the jail, which is supported through a grant partnership with non-profit Quality 360 Healthcare Alliance, welcome 36 graduates with a 100% success rate with 0% reoffending. The program stands as a cognitive-behavioral treatment system that is evidence-based.

The Jail Chemical Addiction Program, known as JCAP, graduated two classes with a total of 11 men, and the adult education program graduated nine, totaling 74 graduates since the program was taken over internally in January 2024.

The department also saw a 95% savings in medical rebilling. The department released that pursuant to state statute, all outside medical bills are rebilled to the federal Medicare rate of +4%. The department’s invoices totaled $818,440.58, but through its partnership with medical vendor Quality Correction Care, the department saved $776,670.92.

The department also stated that 2024 was a busy year for investigations related to Crimes against Children with 28 cases involving Internet Crimes Against Children, Cybertips and Undercover Chats being investigated. One investigation, which concluded in federal courts, was began by the department where an offender was ultimately convicted and received 320 years and a $4,700,000 fine. Another case resulted in the arrest and conviction of a Florida suspect who had over 20 underaged victims, and sentencing will commence later this month.
