The Indiana Department of Homeland Security (IDHS) activated the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) at 12 p.m. Saturday, January 24, to coordinate the state’s response to an incoming winter storm expected to impact communities across Indiana.
The activation brings together additional subject matter experts from multiple state agencies and external partners in one centralized location. This coordinated effort is designed to ensure an effective and timely response to hazardous conditions caused by the storm.
Indiana Governor Mike Braun has also activated highway assistance teams from the Indiana National Guard to provide support in areas expected to experience dangerous road conditions. These teams will assist stranded motorists and help maintain safety along impacted travel corridors.
