Humane Society of Clinton County Hosting Free Dog Microchip Clinic Sept. 13

The Humane Society of Clinton County, Indiana, is partnering with Purdue University Shelter Medicine students to host a free dog microchip clinic on Sunday, September 13, to help local pets safely find their way home if they become lost.

The clinic will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Clinton County Fairgrounds Show Arena. Pet owners should enter through the Jackson Street entrance and follow the drive to the Show Arena.

Microchips will be available in limited quantities and will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Owners are required to provide proof of a current rabies vaccination for their dogs.

For the safety of pets, staff, and volunteers, all dogs must remain on a leash at all times. Pet owners should also remain in their vehicles until a staff member assists them during check-in.

The Humane Society notes that animals may be turned away due to temperament or health concerns.

The free clinic is designed to help keep Clinton County pets protected and increase the chances of reuniting lost dogs with their families.

The Humane Society of Clinton County thanks sponsors Gina and Travis Sheets and Genie and Dean Newhart for their support of this event.
