Charles Burtner Peak, 86, of rural Frankfort, died at 9:20 a.m. February 17, 2018 at his home. He was born on September 26, 1931 in Kirklin, Ind. to Hurlis Wayne & Louisa Mae (Grey) Peak. He married Jeanette Evans on April 3, 1952 in Frankfort, Ind. and she survives.
Charles was a 1950 graduate of Kirklin High School. He worked for General Motors for 31 years, retiring in 1996. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the American Legion in Kirklin. Charles enjoyed traveling, hunting, and fishing and loved being with his family.
Family: Wife: Jeanette Peak of rural Frankfort, 3 Daughters: Sheryl (Mark) Butcher of Kirklin, Elaine Ballard of Washington State, Christine Waters of Frankfort, Sister: Geneva Lashbrook of Frankfort, Brother-in-Law: Donald (Patricia) Evans of Kirklin, 8 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, 5 sisters and a great granddaughter.
The family would like to thank Franciscan Health Hospice Team, especially his frequent visitors, Holly and Dwight.
Services:
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Visitation will begin at 12 Noon prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Clinton County YMCA.
