Michael “Colonel” Dawson, 68, of Plainfield, passed away on Sunday, March 18, 2018, at his home. He was born January 14, 1950, at Clinton County Hospital in Frankfort, to Harold Eugene Dawson and Dorothy Beth Bogan.
Michael graduated from Avon High School and later received his auctioneer license. He worked at several auctions around the area as well as several flea markets. Michael volunteered much of his time cooking and serving meals for the homeless, as a sponsor for AA, or anywhere he was needed to serve.
Surviving Michael are his brother, Dwight (Donna) Dawson, of Avon; sister, Toni Auble-Clavin, of Indianapolis; dear family friends, the Damon Jones family of Plainfield; one niece, three nephews, and several cousins.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at Jefferson Cemetery with Pastor Chuck Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the cemetery. Memorials in Michael’s name may be made to the American Diabetes Association or AA.
