Matthew Aaron Robison

Retired Navy Senior Chief Matthew Aaron Robison, son of Phil and Judy (Patton) Robison was born December 2, 1974. He passed away in the comfort of his own home in Huggins, Missouri, at the age of 44 on August 22, 2019, from cancer.

Matthew is survived by his wife, Deanna, also a Navy Senior Chief; his mother, and younger sister, Andy Robison of Frankfort, IN; two beautiful daughters, Raleigh Slaybaugh and husband, Khiler, and Mattyson Robison of Lafayette, IN; and two wonderful grandchildren, Ryker and Maddox, along with nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father; and three older siblings, Brenda, Troy, and Tim.

Matthew grew up in Frankfort IN and graduated from Frankfort High School.  In 1996, he joined the Navy to serve his country and provide for his family.  His love for his country can only be surpassed by the love he had for his family and especially his two daughters.  While Matt always regretted never being around enough for his girls, serving his country was his calling in life and ensuring the freedoms and liberties of our great country were afforded to his family and everyone in the United States made the sacrifice to his family easier.

Matthew and Deanna were married in 2007 in Indiana, and while both were born and raised Hoosiers, they loved Missouri and always planned to retire here and enjoy the beauty of the state.

Matthew retired from the Navy in October of 2018; he loved to hunt and fish, and work around his farm and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the National Forest surrounding their property.  Even after retirement Matthew created regular work days keeping up around the farm, and working on his wood working skills creating, desks, tables and usual everyday items to make life easier.

He loved his family more than anything; even though the military has had his wife stationed away from him for a few years and his daughters are grown and live their lives in Indiana, Matthew would talk to his wife every night for an hour or three and ensure phone calls and texts to his daughters frequently throughout the week.  Matthew was very proud of his daughters and the women they have become and loved them and their families very much.

Matthew was a true patriot for our great country and a wonderful husband, dad, son, grandfather, and brother.  He is missed dearly by all his family and friends but everyone smiles knowing he’s not in pain and continues to watch everyone from above.
