Memorial Fund Established for Slain Boone County Deputy

JACOB PICKETT

A memorial fund has been set up for Deputy Jake Pickett by the Fifty Club of Boone County. All donations can be brought to either the Boone County Sheriff’s Office or to any Key Bank (c/o Deputy Jake Pickett Memorial Fund).

Sheriff Mike Nielsen wants to give thanks to Chris Beaver and Darren Peck, current and past Presidents of the Fifty Club of Hamilton County, Inc. The Fifty Club, an organization formed in 1969 to provide a “line of duty death benefit” to families of Hamilton County deputies and Noblesville Police and Firefighters.

The Fifty Club consists of local business people. The mission is morphing more into more of a support role that includes topics relevant to firefighters, law enforcement, schools and business community.

Peck, along with attorneys Russel Cate and Steven Lutz, have worked to create a Fifty Club of Boone County which includes a 501 (c)(3) as a means for the community to support Deputy Pickett’s family.

Again, those interested in donating to the Jake Pickett Memorial Fund can bring a check to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office or visit your local Key Bank.
