Optimist’s Oratorical Contest for Scholarships Set

Youth are invited to gain experience in public speaking and compete for college scholarships in this contest.  Any youth under the age of 18 as of October 1, 2017 may enter.  There is no minimum age.  The topic is “Where are My Roots of Optimism?”.  The length of each speech must be 4 to-5 minutes

Deadline for speech entries is March 7.  The Frankfort Optimist Club contest date is March 11.  The Club’s first-place boy and girl winners will be awarded $100 each, the second-place winners receive $50 each, and the third-place winners receive $25 each.  Speakers advance to Regional, then District level where winners will be awarded a $2500 college scholarship.
